About
A guy has had enough of the corporate life and related employment, and starts hanging out in a country shack in Texas to grow stuff. No, not THAT stuff, but healthy things to eat and sell. After all he has only been working for over fifty – 50 – years.
HOLY COW, five decades!
Time for him is long overdue.
He has done everything from deliver newspapers by bicycle; cleaned bathrooms at a famous Hamptons NY hangout; negotiated engineering and construction contracts for mega projects worldwide; been a Peace Corps volunteer; has a Master’s Degree in Community Economic Development and is dedicated to his most loyal friend, his 1965 Honda 305 Scrambler. Other avocations and work experiences are too numerous to mention. But they will come out as time goes by. [Catch the Hoagy Carmichael Casablanca reference?)
The motorcycle had to be mentioned so you don’t jump to conclusions and think he is doddering ready for his ashes to be urned.
Not by a long shot.
If there is one thing he has learned about life it is that age is just a number. Don’t ever think you are too old to do it. If you accept that as a premise, you will be.
With Desk to Dirt he turns to his lifelong love – writing – with imagination and creativity. Things will probably even get zany at times. The intent is that the content here will make you laugh, think, smile, ponder, and maybe even take action in your own life; but not be preachy. Don’t you just hate that?
Dennis, I like it — will stay tuned in! Look forward to reading your stories. Have a great day!
